Manganese bronze alloys incorporate minor amounts of manganese, iron, and aluminum, along with the inclusion of lead to enhance lubrication, prevent seizing, and promote bonding. Similar to aluminum bronzes, manganese bronze alloys effectively blend high tensile strength with outstanding resistance to corrosion. Manganese bronze bearings are capable of performing efficiently at elevated speeds and while bearing heavy loads. However, it’s essential to note that they necessitate high shaft hardness and must operate under nonabrasive conditions to maintain their performance.
